US President Trump had privately contacted allies to discuss who will ultimately succeed Federal Reserve Chairman Powell and outgoing Federal Reserve Board member Cugler. Trump has discussed the future of the Federal Reserve with Fox News anchor Sean Hannity, Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy, and former White House advisor, later turned talk show host Steve Bannon.
